Saturday Supercade makes it happen ... or whatever

What can you say about Saturday Supercade? Well, I guess I should start
by clearing up just who Saturday Supercade is. First you've got Casey
Beagle playing bass, Chip Kellam on guitar and vocals, Aaron Boyer doin'
the drum thang, and "fresh fish" Brian Niesz added just moments ago on
guitar.
The band's been doing their pop-punk thing for a couple of years now,
and although they sound better now, they were cuter then, so if your going
to go see them I'd do it as soon as possible. These chumps have put out a
couple of seven inches, some tapes, whatever. I mean, come on, you don't
care, I don't care, let's just skip that part and move on to the good
stuff: high stakes gambling.
"We went to Atlantic City on the way home and we lost $1,500 on two
bets. It [the table] was a $700 minimum bet, but you win some you lose
some. You don't get to be a high roller just sittin' at the table. You've
got to put the cards down, that's how you get to be a high roller.
We got a free breakfast the next morning and we got to stay in a nice
hotel room, plus there's free drinks, so I guess it averaged out." Yeah,
sure it did.
Is there really anything else to say after a story like that? No, not
really, so let's just get to the band info. Saturday Supercade's newest
release, the full length "A Study in Adult Contemporary Punk Rock" is out
on Red Leader Records and is available at any of your fine local record
stores, or if you can't get your ass off the damn Internet, you can order
it at http://www.redleaderrecords.com/. Also look for the 'Cade
on the "Punk Uprisings 3" compilation, and they have a song, a video and
an interview on the "Incompatible" comp, out now on Victory Records.
Now that you know how damn popular they are, you'll probably want to go
look at pictures of them in their underwear, so you can start by checking
at http://www.thecade.com/. Call it a hunch.
Is your band unjustly ignored? Are you aching for the coverage
you've been so cruelly denied? Write in and give us a good reason to cover
you along with a contact/phone number and you could be well on your way to
the top, just like Dokken. Send your email to cincypress@citysearch.com
